St. Sophia Cathedral is famous for its architecture and interior. Initially, it was built as the main temple of Russia, so it is very difficult to find similar buildings, for example, in Byzantium. Although the builders were discharged directly from Constantinople. In terms of symbolism, the high dome of the temple reminds parishioners of Jesus Christ. Twelve small domes are about the apostles, and four of them symbolize the evangelists who preached the teachings of Christ.
Absolutely stunning place, with amazing gardens. The interior of the cathedral is from 12 century and is fantastic!!
I've only been within the courtyard of the Cathedral complex and not in the buildings themselves. But they are beautiful! If you come to Kiev you simply must visit the Saint Sophia's Cathedral.
Nice view but in some places you are baned to take picture and some you pay to take picture but its wonderful place and the tower is freezing inside but as every thing iwll say its soo good the view the musem
Adorable place, full of quite atmosphere and greens. You will feel peaceful there, just in the middle of noisy center. Inside, you could visit old church and also step upstairs - to have a look at old city from the high. The fee entrance is not high. Sometimes - some events are organized inside, but also outside.
Very interesting place for every tourist and Ukrainian - it is like time machine, where you got back almost 1000 years back. You find there unique architecture and paintings on the wall. No words would be needed, if i will mention that this cathedral is protected by UNESCO.
Great place and good architecture. City of ukraine always be my memories. See you soon
